Alloy Structural Steel AISI 4140 is a chromium molybdenum alloy steel that is supplied in either the annealed or prehardened condition, it can be used as a holder material for high strength structural components.

Weldability suffers with increasing chromium content.

High temperature strength and high pressure hydrogenation perperties are promoted by chromium and molybdenum.

Molybdenum significantly reduces temper brittleness. 

APPLICATIONS: Used for shafts, gears, cylinders and columns for industry mechanics in general.

Construction of mold, make large-medium plastic mold.

For compression molds where the etching is not required.
